She was preceded in death by her parents, Zack and Margaret Thacker Fugate; her husband, Ron A. Henard; sister, Etta Jane Williamson; nephew, Ken Williamson; grandson, Jimmy Moneyhun and sister-in-law, Phyllis Johns.

She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bristol and served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon and was the first woman to serve as Deacon chair.

She was also a Holy Land Pilgrim and involved in mission work in Africa, South America and Europe.
She served on many boards including YWCA, eleven years on the Virginia Intermont College Board, Girls Inc. and several years on the board of Visitors at King College.

She loved her Lord, her family, her church, her many friends and U.T. football.

Survivors include her son, Bryan Moneyhun; step-children, Kenneth Henard and wife, Lura; Kay Whiten; Ronda Buchanan and husband, Bob; and Katherine Wiles and husband, Dennis; sister-in-law, Jean Rich; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren at age 81.5
     Emma Sue Fugate was buried at Glenwood Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, Bristol, Sullivan Co., Tennessee, US.5

JONESVILLE, Va. — Charlotte Culbertson, 67, died Wednesday (June 9, 1999) at
Lee County Community Hospital.

She was a lifelong resident of Lee County, a graduate of Pennington Gap High
School and attended Radford College.

She was the assistant manager of Pennington Hardware and Furniture Co. for
over 30 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pennington Gap, a
member of the Lee County Community Auxiliary and a member of the Powell
Valley Chapter No. 13 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Garrett; and a brother, Bruce
Garrett.

Surviving are her husband, Charles Culbertson, Jonesville, Va; three sons,
Roger Culbertson, Jonesville, Va., Allen Culbertson and wife, Jackie,
Pennington Gap, Va., and David Culbertson, Roanoke, Va; two grandsons, Cory
Culbertson and Jacob Napier; mother, Golden Garrett, Pennington Gap, Va;
three sisters, Remona Alsup, Maxine Wright and Sue Mullins, all of
Pennington Gap, Va; two brothers, Harold Garrett, Nags Head, N.C., and
Phillip Garrett, Hopewell, Va; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sturgill Funeral Home,
Pennington Gap, Va.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with
Dr. Ken Sprinkle officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Lee Memorial
Gardens, Woodway, Va.

The family, pallbearers and friends that wish to go in procession to the
cemetery will meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lee County Rescue Squad,
Pennington Gap Rescue Squad, or Jonesville Rescue Squad in memory of
Charlotte Culbertson. at Jonesville, Virginia, US.2
