Other church decorations included two nine-branched circular candelabra entwined with pink rosebuds against a background of greenery. Pink rosebuds, satin bows and leather leaves marked the honor pews. A single pink taper and greenery was placed in each window.

     Edith Nell Cox was an educator, working as a teacher's aide in 1970.6 She and Mack Glen Cox were divorced on Aug 6, 1970 at Scott, Virginia, US, Edith sued for divorce on grounds of desertion after a speration in June of 1969.10 Edith Nell Haynes's husband Mack Glen Coxdied on Mar 28, 1983.2,11
     Edith Nell Haynes married John Henry Cox, son of John W. Cox and Sarah Jane Vicars, on May 23, 1985 at Scott, Virginia, US, this was John Henry's fourth marriage.12,13,1,4 Edith Nell Cox died on Jun 13, 2018 at age 93. Her obituary read: Weber City - Edith H. Cox, of Weber City, VA, was promoted to Glory on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. She was born in Weber City on April 18, 1925 to James Kelly and Delphia Pierson Haynes. She was a member of Gate City United Methodist Church and Rebekkah Lodge #86. Edith lived life every day as the gift it was, laughed with immeasurable joy and loved unconditionally.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Cox; son, Mike Cox; step-daughter, Sue Cox; daughter-in-law Glenda Cox; the father of her children, Glen Cox; siblings, Clyde Haynes (Edna), Lucille Jennings (Clarence), Dorothy McKenzie (Ray), Monnie Babb (Johnny), Jay Haynes (Shirley), June Peters (Carl) and an infant brothers, John and Roy Haynes.
Edith is survived by her children, Jim Cox (Phyllis), Sandra Greenwell (Terry) and Patti Kestner (Danny); brother, Glenn Haynes (Gladys); grandchildren, Steven Cox, Jonathan Cox, Nathan Cox, Lori Templeton, Michael Cox, Patrick Cox, Marina Cox, Anna Greene and Melanie Deel; 12 great-grandchildren, Kaden, McKenzie, Kamryn, Karlie, Korbin, Katelyn, Ethan, Matthew, Jackson, Samuel, Lori, Travis and Hannah; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Bennett and Isaiah; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Gate City United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the church with Rev. Jim Cox and Rev. Gordon McBride officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Holston View Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
