NICKELSVILLE-Mrs. Maxie Cox Scott, 63, Rt. 1, Nickelsville, died at Holston Valley Community Hospital at 8:45 p.m. Monday after a long illness. She was a life long resident of Scott County and was a school teacher for 34 years before her illness. She attended the Gillenwater Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Branson Scott of Nickelsville; one son, Douglas N. Scott of Dungannon; two sisters, Mrs. Lela Frazier of Nickelsville; Mrs. Ella Elam of Wise; four brothers, Marvin D. Cox of Kingsport; Teddy Cox of Nickelsville and Willie Cox of Crane-Nest, Va; also John H. Cox of Gate City. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Gillenwater Church Chapel with Rev. James Kilgore and Rev. Buddy Burke, officiating. Burial will be in Holston View Cemetery. The body will be taken from the Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City to the church one hour before services.2,3,12
