JONESVILLE, Va. — Charlotte Culbertson, 67, died Wednesday (June 9, 1999) at
Lee County Community Hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Lee County, a graduate of Pennington Gap High
School and attended Radford College.
She was the assistant manager of Pennington Hardware and Furniture Co. for
over 30 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pennington Gap, a
member of the Lee County Community Auxiliary and a member of the Powell
Valley Chapter No. 13 Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Garrett; and a brother, Bruce
Garrett.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Culbertson, Jonesville, Va; three sons,
Roger Culbertson, Jonesville, Va., Allen Culbertson and wife, Jackie,
Pennington Gap, Va., and David Culbertson, Roanoke, Va; two grandsons, Cory
Culbertson and Jacob Napier; mother, Golden Garrett, Pennington Gap, Va;
three sisters, Remona Alsup, Maxine Wright and Sue Mullins, all of
Pennington Gap, Va; two brothers, Harold Garrett, Nags Head, N.C., and
Phillip Garrett, Hopewell, Va; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sturgill Funeral Home,
Pennington Gap, Va.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with
Dr. Ken Sprinkle officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Lee Memorial
Gardens, Woodway, Va.
The family, pallbearers and friends that wish to go in procession to the
