Andrew Jackson and Verlina were married at the old home near the Buckeye Spring west of the schoolhouse (Moore's Gate). They moved to the homestead on the top of the Copper Ridge and built their house on the top of the hill. This being too far from the water, he built again farther down, near a large spring, where they spent the rest of their lives, except for the last few years which were spent with their youngest daughter.1
     Andrew Jackson Addington served as a Private in Company C, 38th Battalion, Virginia Light Artillery (Read's.)8,9
